Mommy Moment or Senior Moment?
It goes like this . . .
Open freezer door
Stare blankly inside, wondering why I opened the freezer door
Realize what I actually need is a teacup, which is not stored in the freezer (yet)
Go get teacup and wait for water to boil, then realize
Oh that’s right, I was looking for the meat to defrost for dinner tomorrow
Go back to freezer, look for meat, it’s missing
Look in fridge and find meat already defrosting (wow I really *am* organized!)
Suddenly hear the sound of water boiling furiously, but no whistle
Discover I’ve put the kettle on to boil without the lid
Wonder if I should be allowed in the kitchen by myself . . . but doesn’t my skin look dewy from all that steam?

So long as you’re not putting the *electric kettle* on the electric burner and turning the burner on (the way my grandmother did a couple of times) you’re okay!
I personally find myself in rooms all the time, wondering “Why did I come in here?”. Of course, it’s worse when I’m sleep deprived.

I can definitely relate. It’s fun to laugh at ourselves, isn’t it?
This also reminds me of the children’s book “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie . . .” by Laura Numeroff (sp?). You & your daughter may like her books.

LOL Total Mommy Moment. Yesterday, the Urbane Lion asked me to get the linguine out of the pantry. He used the word PANTRY. I looked in the fridge for the linguine. He, rather sarcastically said “Linguine, pasta, DRY pasta, PANTRY”. Honestly, I even had this whole thought process going on about “hm, how interesting, he bought fresh pasta, that’s why it’s in the fridge.” I went to the PANTRY. I handed him cantilloni.

My version goes like this: take apple juice out of fridge, get drink. Put bag of chips into the fridge instead of the juice. Later find the chips in the fridge, blame husband and wonder “what was he thinking?”

Mommy moment – unless my senior moments are kicking in at 25! Just don’t ever put the remote in the fridge – it doesn’t go there

NOT a senior moment at all! I’m 33 years young and I do that all the time. It’s because we have SO much to think about all day long with the children that we forget what we’ve done or need to do. We are amazing like that ;o)
Enjoy your day!

This is hilarious. Last week I put the milk in the pantry and the cereal in the refrigerator.

@Danielle: it’s comforting to know that much younger moms have this same challenge!
@Kymberli: yikes, I hope you found the milk quickly!

That’s not a senior moment..I do things like that all the time..and Im only 26. I many times find myself in a room, or looking on a shelf or in my purse wondering, what am I doing? I think my brain just skips sometimes.
