Show & Tell: Vintage Mommy Gets Crafty

I haven’t been blogging at all these last few months. I’ve been lurking though, so I’ve seen Melba’s, Anna’s and Luna’s exciting news. And I always enjoy Mel’s Show and Tell, though getting the magnetic letter image onto my blog is beyond my technological skill!

Several things conspired to shut my blogging down: you can read about my struggle with privacy here and here, and my struggle with keeping my life in order here. This winter those two struggles collided and I just stopped writing.

I’m finding my way back to blogging via crafting, and so, without further ado, I’d like to introduce my new Etsy shop: contemporary keepsakes.

I need a creative pursuit to be happy, and I seem to have a need to try entrepreneurship, so this is a start. I had always planned to somehow merge my crafty side with the blog, perhaps becoming a resource for creating Adoption Story books, and I’d like my Etsy shop to feature keepsakes and page kits designed with adoptive and birthfamilies in mind. So as usual, I’m going in a million directions at once . . . sigh.

As always, I’m more than happy to share our open adoption journey with anyone looking for information, support and encouragement. You can get in touch at: ann at vintagemommy dot com.

Dear VM, thanks for the comment on my blog.

You are so correct…I know somebody loved that piece of metal enough and did it for the sheer love in the act. That makes it so much more precious, you know!

Hi Shevy, how are you?? I’ve thought about you so many times! Glad to see you’re back to blogging as well. I hope I’ll be able to keep it up, but it really is a lot of work, isn’t it?

Hope you and your family are all well!

Hi Beautiful Mess, loved your pic of the book and rolling pin. One of my most prized possessions is my Fannie Farmer paperback that my mom gave me in high school – a really, really long time ago!
