Show & Tell: BEFORE

Show and Tell
IMG_4286

That is the huge, messy pile of papers I have on the floor of my office. They are waiting for me to deal with them: recycle, toss, file – whatever. We had a bit of drama around here last week as we were heading to Canada and needed to find certain documents, and my office hasn’t been the same since.

The huge messy pile is usually contained by my “to file” black hole box, but it has become very clear that I need to actually do some filing. Needless to say, paper management is not my strength.

I really hope to Show & TellĀ  about my clean floor and efficiently filed papers next week in a post entitled “AFTER” – original, no?

On another note: I refrained from taking a photo of Vintage Girl’s empty bed, but she is off at Girl Scout camp for two nights. Earlier today she threatened to stay there forever because I was being SO MEAN! What terrible, mean thing did I do? I told her she had to finish her lunch before playing w/her camera. Just awful, I know! I’m sure you’d want to stay at camp forever too if you had me for a mother.

Don’t forget to head over to Mel’s to see what the rest of the class is sharing this week.

My kids thought I was being horribly mean because I made them clean up after the pets…LOL. Good luck getting through all those papers.

    Sarah:

I finally cleaned up my “to-file” pile a couple weeks ago – didn’t take me that long, but for some reason I had been putting it off for months! It feels great now to go into the office and see a nice clean filing cabinet with no stacks of paper on it :) .
    Good luck with your filing!

If you find a good solution for your paper organization/management, please let me know! It is definitely a weakness for me! Good luck!

    Beautiful Mess:

My laundry piles in my room would rival your paper pile ANY day! Good luck with finding a home for your papers.

P.S. I’m the worst mom because I told my 5 year old he had to help me clean the kitchen! Hope she’s having fun at camp, though.

    Mrs. Gamgee:

Once you get your paper piles sorted, do you want to come see what you can do with mine? it’s outta control!

    Vintage Mommy:

Mrs. Gamgee I would love to help you but I am helpless myself!

Beautiful Mess: I always joke that our laundry room is the dirtiest room in the house LOL

Emmy: I know I shouldn’t let it all pile up, but I HATE filing!

Sarah: I’m looking forward to seeing that clear space as well; it’s so soothing!

Kristin: Vintage Girl has been lobbying for a new kitten (one of our cats died in March) but she rarely thinks to feed the one we have and I can only imagine what she’d say about the litter box – LOL!

I am sure glad that I am not the only one fighting disorder and the paper piles. My last two blog posts were about this very same issue. Can’t wait to see your “After” photos.

    Shevy:

It’s amazing how quickly we can go from being “The Best Mother in the Whole Wide World” to the meanest! I find it can happen within seconds! Often, all it takes is one sentence on my part (usually one containing the word “no”, or the phrase “you have to do ‘x’ now”).

    Vintage Mommy:

    Hi Shevy,
HAHA! Yes, that’s exactly how it goes. I sometimes think I have true Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde on my hands!
