I love to share our adoption story and I’m always delighted when a friend or acquaintance asks if I’ll meet with someone who is considering adoption.
But when it came to this blog, I found I was not comfortable sharing all the details of our adoption and what has occurred since. I partly feel (as I wrote in this post) that the story belongs more to my daughter than to me. She’s too young to write a blog or to care about what I might be writing about her in mine, but I feel I need to protect her privacy until she’s old enough to decide for herself what she wants to share with the world.
I got myself so in knots about all this that I stopped writing Vintage Mommy altogether and I’ve missed it. Then I came up with a plan: if anyone isĀ interested in learning more about our experiences with our agency, the wait, our placement, living in an open adoption - or anything else about our journey – I would be more than happy to communicate via email, and I look forward to hearing from you.
And you can find the first few chapters of our adoption story here, and here.
